Jennifer
Scott and her 3 brothers grew up a world of abuse. Not from their
father but from their mother, whom they could never call mom. They
referred to her as Ella. This was Ella's choice. Ella was a cold,
controlling, manipulative, cruel, heartless, bitter, sadistic human
being, a true essence of evil. Ella always told her children they were
responsible for what they did and what happened in their lives.
Jennifer
and her brothers grew up learning to pretend they had the perfect
family, they never spoke of the pain they experienced while growing up.
Once Jennifer graduated she accepted a contract with a an upscale
magazine with lots of traveling. Without looking back her bags
were packed, leaving her boyfriend Chris behind Jennifer started a new
life. Jennifer mother who was miles away was still sabotaging Jen's
life. Letters Chris wrote to her was stuffed in boxes and Ella
manipulated Jen into marrying someone that she had no love for. Ella
looked at marriage as just wealth and advantages that over powered the
bad.
The day Jen's father dies, things will forever change with
Jen. Her new goal is to due everything in her power to make Ella's life
miserable. She is convinced that Ella has ruined all her chances for
happiness. As Ella never took teh blame or responsibility, neither did
Jen in her own pain. The bad choices she made in own life she could
never take responsibility for. Jen is plaques with disturbing dreams
and visions. When the hatred has grown so bad, Jen takes things in her
own hands. . . . . .
What a powerful read ! I was hooked from the
first sentence. This is a mother and daughter that
never took responsibility for their own actions, they always blamed
someone else. It really makes you stop and think about choices you make.
Very deep story, that kept me wanting to turn the page and left me
wanting for more.
