Interview of Zoey Marcel

Welcome to JBR! We are thrilled to have you visiting today.

Thank you for having me, Julie!

With the huge give away going on what item are you offering to our wonderful readers?

I’m offering a free ebook of any one of my titles, reader’s choice in PDF format.
(Winner will be chosen from comments below please leave a post with your contact info)

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I’m a wife and mom, so that keeps me busy along with the writing. I also love to read, go for long drives, and travel. I’m a major coffee addict, a dog lover, and I enjoy reading up on health and fitness.

What genres do you like to write?

I write quite a few different genres. My three favorite erotic romance genres are ménage, paranormal, and BDSM. I also write contemporary, historical, cowboys, and dark erotica.

What is your newest release?

My newest release is Masters of Temptation (Temptation, Wyoming 6). It’s about a husband and wife who explore a power exchange BDSM relationship together with him as her Dom. Their male friend is the third partner in their marriage, but as the story progresses they allow two more men into their bed and day to day lives.
The story is MFMMM ménage and it’s also paranormal with plenty of BDSM in it.

What are you working on right now?

Right now I’m working on a serial or trilogy (still trying to decide which) that is MFMMMM ménage with cowboys and BDSM in the latter books. I’m still working on a title for it.

Any future projects you can hint about?

Well, Temptation, Wyoming 7 is coming up soon on my list. It’s a FMMM ménage with tiger shifter men and a BBW. I’m looking forward to writing it.
Also, Winchester, Arizona 4 is up to be written after that. It’s about a Gothic witch and her five jaguar shifter cowboys. It’s not as crazy as it sounds. Lol
Masters of Temptation (Temptation, Wyoming #6)

As a writer can you give an aspiring author any advice or some of your wisdom?

Write like crazy. Use a thesaurus and read a lot so you know the market and can learn new words to use in your own writing. You want to write what sells, but at the same time you want to be original and stand out.
Also, don’t give up. You’ll get rejections, but learn from feedback and keep writing. The only way to succeed is to not quit.

If you could meet one character from your books who would it be and why?

That’s tough. It’s a toss-up between Jade Flowers from the Winchester, Arizona series and Ben Easton from the Temptation, Wyoming series.
Jade because she’s fun and I like her personality. She’d be fun to hang out with and grab a coffee.
Ben because he’s so dang hot and masculine. J He’s got that caring husband side and then there’s that dominant side. He’s a good blend of what I love in a man.

Are there any other people or authors that have inspired you or helped you along the way?

My husband is very supportive of me.
As far as authors, I have quite a few that I like, but as far as encouragement goes some of the authors who either helped or lifted my spirits in some way are: Hennessee Andrews, Erika Reed, Natalie Acres, Jenika Snow, Shae Shannon, Tymber Dalton, Tara Rose and the list goes on. I’ve made so many wonderful friends since I became an author. J

How about some fun stuff? What is you favorite activity besides writing?

Exercising. It’s a love/hate relationship. Sometimes I hate it (okay most of the time), but I love the results, especially when I eat really clean (except for frozen coffee lol). I want to take my little self and see if eventually I can look like some of my fitness role models with muscles. Not steroid freakish or anything, just feminine with nice big lady guns.

Do you own any pets?

Not at the moment unfortunately, but the next one I own will undoubtedly be a dog.

Fav place to travel?

That I’ve been to? That would be Grants Pass, Oregon. I lived there as a child and the place is immortal to me still. I’m really not sure why. It’s like the town version of my soul mate I guess.
I loved Hawaii and Israel a lot, too.
If I could travel anywhere I haven’t been yet it would be a toss-up between Australia and Italy.

Fav author you can recommend to our readers? (Can have more than one)

My favorite erotic romance authors are Lora Leigh, Robin Schone, Leah Brooke, and Chloe Lang.

Fav book (same question as above)

My favorite erotic romance book is Gabriel’s Woman by Robin Schone. I love that it was dark and gritty. That’s my favorite type of book to read, and she wrote the tortured hero well, which is one of my favorite types of men to read about.
I love all I’ve read of Lora Leigh. She writes the hottest scenes and her men are alpha to the core and obsessed with their women. I love that about her books. The men are devoted, but they’re dominant, stubborn, real men.
Leah Brooke’s Desire, Oklahoma series is addicting mainly because of the characters. It’s like the pages are littered with caffeine that calls to me. Lol I can’t stop! Her men are very alpha and I love that.
I’ve only read a few of Chloe Lang’s books so far, but her sex scenes are hot and well written. I’m more of a bad boy in leather or gentleman in a suit kind of girl, but she writes cowboys in such a way that I enjoy reading about them.
