Interview with Zara Stoneley/Susie Medwell

Welcome to Julies Book Review! Zara Stoneley is visiting JBR today! They are giving away a copy (ebook) of a book from their backlist (Riding High, Forfeit or Freefalling) on the rafflecopter to the right of the page. The giveaway will last all April long. So lots of GREAT items for an AWESOME giveaway!

We are all very glad you came here to JBR. Can you tell us a little about yourself? Hi Julie, and thank you so much for having me over today J I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember (my first sub was a thriller when I was twelve years old). My erotic romances have been published by Xcite Books and Breathless Press, and my first contemporary romance is due out with Lyrical Press in May 2013. I’ve got a teenage son and my very own hero and I love my family, sunshine, wine, good food, caffeine, cats, music, writing and reading – but not necessarily in that order!

What genres do you write? I write erotic romance as Zara Stoneley, and contemporary romance as Susie Medwell.

As a reader I love all genres but my followers want to know what to expect from your books. Action, adventure, romance, sex, magic?? My Zara books are hot, but there is always a heavy dose of romance and a HFN or HEA. Only read them if you like hot alpha men (often more than one!) and women who know what they want, and have a good idea of how to get it!

Who is your favorite character(s) from your books? That’s a difficult one! I’m not sure I can just pick one, I must admit though that I have a soft spot for Sophie (one of the four characters in Good Enough to Share, but who has her own story in Good Enough to Trust). She can be so annoying, and bossy but she’s had a tough life and she truly is determined to brave her way through and do the very best she can for her friends.

What is your newest release? Can you tell us a little about it? ‘Good Enough to Share’ is Book 1 in a series (but you can read the books independently). It’s about four friends who spend Christmas together here’s the blurb -

One Christmas, four friends - will they still be together by New Year's Day? Divorce wasn’t part of the plan for Holly, but then again nor was spending the festive period with two sexy men and Santa’s little helper! With a disastrous marriage behind her, and three good friends who are willing to share, moving on could be fun – if only she can accept that sometimes her heart is wiser than her head. Dane doesn’t do commitment, which suits Holly just fine. But when things heat up between the four friends, he’s forced to face up to his past. Will realising he’s good enough mean he no longer wants to share…? Laid back Charlie knows that if his best friend becomes his lover he could end up losing big time. But can he resist? And when the girl he once loved comes back, who will he decide to spend the New Year with? …And Sophie just wants to have fun. She’s got the answers to everyone's problems, except her own …. is she the one who needs good friends most of all? Will a caring, sharing, lust and love filled Christmas lead to the happy ever after they all desire? WARNING - Christmas may never seem the same again!
An erotic contemporary romance, including menage, F/M/F, M/F/M and sex outdoors.

What about future projects? Any hints? I’ve got an erotic romance novella ‘Spice it Up’ due out any day now – it features a very sexy Spaniard and a food critic who finds him far spicier than the tapas he’s serving. Then there’s the second book in the Good Enough series ‘Good Enough to Trust’, it’s Sophie’s story – the books can be read independently but if you’ve read ‘Good Enough to Share’ you will already have met her and have some idea about the demons she faces. If you want to find out more about either of these please pop over to my website http://www.susiemedwell.com/erotic-romance---single-titles.html

Can you give aspiring authors any advice? Stick with it and write from the heart. Don’t try to imitate anyone else and don’t compare yourself to other writers. We all have our own style, write at our own pace and have our own goals.

How about some "fun" personal stuff!
What book have they read that touched you deeply? and why? (yours or someone elses) I’m a soft spot when it comes to books that are about animals. Many, many years ago I read a book called Tschiffely’s Ride and I’ve never forgotten it. The man and his two horses travelled 10,000 miles together – refusing to quit when things got difficult. It’s a story about love and devotion, and having faith – something that you need in every romance. At the moment writing Good Enough to Trust is having the same kind of effect on me – it’s the most emotional story I’ve written, I think total honesty and total trust are two things that are difficult to find, and even more difficult to write or read about.

Favorite past time activity? Horse-riding, I had to sell my horses a few years ago and I miss them like crazy. Walking and cooking are my new stress relievers!

A favorite book or author you can recommend (not your own)?and WHY? There are far too many good books out there to pick out one – I like to try new authors and genres and picking one out at random for holiday reading is something I love doing.

Favorite place to travel to? Italy.

What kind of music do you listen too? All kinds, and I love jamming sessions with my OH and our guitars at the weekend J

And finally where can we find your books?(please include any links you want including buy links) All the buy links and book details are on my website at www.zarastoneley.com but you can find them on Amazon, iTunes, Kobo, ARe, Barnes and Noble, Waterstones and most other good retailers. You can find my Amazon author page at http://www.amazon.com/Zara-Stoneley/e/B007WK307G/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_1
