Welcome to Julies Book Review! Suzanne Wright is
visiting JBR today! They are giving away a signed paperback copy of Wicked
Cravings on the rafflecopter to the right of the page. The giveaway will last
all April long. So lots of GREAT items for an AWESOME giveaway!
We are all very glad you came here to JBR. Can
you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m twenty-nine years old, British, married to
a guy who thankfully overlooks that I hear voices in my head, and have two
gorgeous – albeit occasionally demonic – young children. Oh and an eight year
old bulldog who thinks he’s still a pup.
What genres do you write?
I write Fantasy Romance and Contemporary
Romance
As a reader I love all genres but my followers
want to know what to expect from your books. Action, adventure, romance, sex,
magic??
Romance, sarcasm, a whole lot of dirty talk, explicit
sex, and doses of mystery and action
Who is your favorite character(s) from your
books?
Sorry, can’t answer that. It’s like asking
which is my favorite child…but I do have soft spots for Jaxxon (‘From Rags’), Fletcher
(‘Here Be Sexist Vampires’ and ‘The Bites That Binds’), Taryn and Dominic (both
from ‘Feral Sins’ and ‘Wicked Cravings’).
What is your newest release? Can you tell us a
little about it?
My newest release is ‘Wicked Cravings’, which is book two of the
Phoenix Pack series. The book centers round the pack Beta, Dante, and a new addition
to the pack, Jaime – who was a member of his old pack so they knew each other
as children. Since then, Jaime’s had a crush on him, but Dante – a workaholic –
feels he doesn’t have time in his life for any kind of relationship so he ignores
his intense attraction to her. As Jaime mistakes his indifference for disinterest,
she decides to move on. But Dante finds that he doesn’t like losing her
attention. He also finds that she’s hiding something, and he sets out to
uncover her secret. What he finds is a problem that Jaime’s convinced not even he
can solve. Dante, however, won’t accept defeat and devises a plan to prevent
what could potentially destroy them both. But with enemies from the past and
present set on breaking them apart, the pair might just be out of time.
What about future projects? Any hints?
I’m currently working on the third installment
of the Phoenix Pack series, titled ‘Tremors of Need’. The book centers round
Shaya and Nick. I can’t give away any details without including spoilers for
Wicked Cravings, sorry.
Can you give aspiring authors any advice?
Read and write and read and write and read and write. It not
only helps with developing your own style, but with improving your skills. Also,
many people have emailed me to say they hold back from approaching publishers
or from trying the self-publishing route because they fear criticism or their
families’ reactions. Please bear in mind that no matter what you write or how
well you write it, not everyone is going to like it. So yes, there will be
criticisms simply because everybody’s different…and that brings me to my third
piece of advice: don't write for other people. Write for you, write something
that you would feel proud of and that you would enjoy reading. Of course the
hope is that other people will enjoy it too, but if they didn't then at least
you were true to yourself when you wrote your book. That’s all you should ever
ask of yourself.
How about some "fun" personal stuff!
What book have they read that touched you deeply? and why? (yours or someone elses) I’ve read many books that have touched me like that, but the one that will always stick out in my mind was a book titled ‘A Child Called IT’ – it is a true, heartbreaking story about a child who suffered a level of abuse that is unthinkable. I admire anybody with the strength to not only get through something like that, but be able to tell their story.

Favorite past time activity?
Reading. And reading. And more reading. I absolutely love reading and I have done for as long as I can remember. But I also think of writing as a hobby as it’s something I enjoy doing more than anything else.

A favorite book or author you can recommend
(not your own)? And WHY?
I adore Christine Feehan, and I love every book from her Leopard People series. She’s so descriptive that I can actually visualize the rainforest/swamp, or wherever the setting happens to be, but she does this without lingering on details. That’s talent.

Favorite place to travel to?
I love Orlando Florida – all those theme parks appeal to the adrenalin junkie in me. But I also love places with culture, especially Rome.

What kind of music do you listen too?
I’m not someone who has ‘types’ of things they like. If the song’s good, I’ll listen to it. If the plot sounds good, I’ll read/watch it.
