“She’ll be okay?” Tahlon
was finally able to relax enough to speak. None of the tigers were
trying to take Tera out of his arms.
“She should be. She has a
car out front. You could drive it to your house since you guys ran in
your shifts here,” Mari said, picking up a satchel from the island.
Midas
cleared his throat in a way that sounded like an order, and the tigers
left the kitchen quickly. “I am cautioning you that when she awakens,
if she wants to be taken home and you refuse, I will beat you within an
inch of your lives. She is no prisoner, and if she doesn’t want to be
your shared mate, then you will respect her. Our alliance with the
Wiccan coven is important for everyone here.”
Melo nodded, and
Tahlon ground his teeth together to stop from snarling his outrage.
Midas could try to take Tera from them, but it would be the last thing
the king ever did. Tera was their mate, and there was no way in hell
they were going to let her go. If she was frightened of their
connection or needed time to adjust, then they would give that to her,
but they wouldn’t leave her side.
She was their mate and the
center of their universe now. If she wanted to leave, they’d just have
to convince her that being their mate was the best thing that ever
happened to her, because it sure as hell was the best thing that had
ever happened to him.
