Lord of the Bears  and Lord of the Bears 2
by Jess Hayek

Logan is the last of his kind and searching for his mate. Years upon years he has searched for the woman who can give him a family. Immortal and falling in love has been hard to handle because he will never grow old and his love grows old and dies. With no other bears to share his life with, humans are his only option. Try, try again and hopefully he will find who he has been searching for.

Book 1 Lord of the Bears, is basically where Logan introduces Jenny to the shifter world. I really enjoy and sympathize with Logan's character. Searching for your mate because he doesn't want to be alone is a worth while chase. Jenny's character, a waitress, is very agreeable to going with Logan. Jenny's character is a little less believable to me. She doesn't really question anything and believes everything.

Book 2  Lord of the Bears 2, Jenny and Logan learn more about one another. A old girl friend brings a new layer of strange. The ex is a shifter and immortal as well but unable to give Logan the family he wants so badly. Danger from the local werewolves adds a element.

These books read like a TV sitcom episodes, very short books. They are not really read alone type books. They really don't have a HEA endings. Over all the series so far is okay. I'm curious at where the author is going to take the characters. Jenny is not a strong female character, she just kinda goes with the flow and a follower. Logan is the typical strong alpha male we all know and love. Okay story, a good premise, has some promise, will read more to see where the story goes.

3 1/2 round up to 4 stars looking for more in the next episode
