This story takes us back to the beginning where Jen Dalton meets Brock Kincaid. Before book 1 in this Harland County series. Jen, a college student at age 23 is tired of ranch hands. They just leave. She lets herself have a one night stand with a man she called Cowboy. And as he left with no calls or at least trying to contact her, she has decided to move to Houston, become an account and marry a man that works behind a desk after graduation.
Lo and behold but who is the ranch hand filling in at her family ranch when she goes home. Her cowboy! Jen would still like to be involved with him even though he has promised another ranch to work for them in 8 weeks. A lot can happen in 8 weeks but when the time comes for him to leave he's determine to hold his word. Jen's brother has promised her to stay out of her business pertaining to Brock, one he doesn't keep. Now it's up to Brock to convince Jen he has decided to stay for her.
