Shade, a normal teen aged girl, lives at home with her little brothers and sister and her mom. Dad died but was loved and she keeps busy with her family and school. She has always had a gift of knowing things that people didn't want known. Like when she knows someone is cheating on a test. Her fellow students don't take kindly to that gift. What no one knows is that she learns these things from voices that guide her, annoy her and push her to do certain things. She has never understood why and who they are, just that they are there. Walking home from school, because her mom got busy with the little ones and forgot her again, is not high on her favorites list but when her voices tell her to run into an abandoned building, she is not thrilled but knows she will not be left alone until she follows their command. So Shade is thrown into a world she didn't know existed. Walking into a magical fight, opens her eyes to people and a world she has never know and finds she is apart of it. But when a Queen asks her to go on a quest with people who are as strange as the new land, she may be the only one who can save this fairy place and her home!
Wonderful YA novel. Normally I don't read YA novels but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Excellent story, wonderful adventure, great characters that I just want to know more about, danger, fighting, hints of a little crush maybe, and so much more!! Great read and great for most ages....14 and up is what I recommend. It does contain some violence. Thanks for the great read.....would love to read the next ones! Hint Hint!!
