Hello AJ, How are you today?
Great! The first day of a release is kind of a buzz, so much excitement!.
Lets start with maybe you telling us a little about yourself?
Well, I'm a YA paranormal romance author. I'm happily married to the last perfect guy on the planet and the mother of four amazing teenagers who keep my life interesting (to say the very least). I started writing in 2008 when my daughter decided she needed a new vampire series to read. I thought she was crazy, at first, but with her and my husband both begging me to do it, I started writing and haven't stopped since.
What type of genres do you write?
I mostly write in the paranormal romance genre. I just love the creativity you can put into it. There are so many things you can do with it.
You have a new release? Can you give us some a taste...maybe a blurb?
Sure! .
Blurb:
My name is Ember Blaylock.
Welcome to the World of Weird—better known as my life.
It wasn’t always like this. I
was once a normal high school senior, just filling out college apps and trying
to stay sane long enough to get out of Moonlight, Missouri. Preferably
before I ended up in a straight-jacket out of sheer boredom.
At first, my only problems were my
increasingly unwanted ability to see the dead and my desperation to remove the
stalker known as my ex-boyfriend from my life. Somewhere along the line I
must have pissed off the Bad Karma Fairy. Maybe I stepped on the wrong
toadstool or peed in Loki’s personal swimming pool—I really don’t know.
All I do know is I’m about to have the worst week of my life.
Maybe the worst week of any teenager’s life. Ever.
All because of a dead guy.
From the second pale,
too-hot-to-be-real Nathan Ashley stepped out of the wreckage of his mangled
sports car, my life spiraled into complete and utter chaos. One minute,
I'm quasi-normal. The next, I’m being kidnapped by a vampire, I’m having weird,
creepy powers sprout up out of nowhere, and I’m running from a demon who wants
to get more familiar with my anatomy…or kill me. Again. Yeah, did I mention he's done it before?
Anybody know if those straight-jackets
come in pink?
Is this a series? or a single?
Let my friends go after just one book? Never! No, Something Witchy is just the first book in the Mystics & Mayhem series. There are five books already planned, the second of which, Something Wicked should be released soon.
Who is your favorite character and why?
My favorite character is Ember. She's every teenage girl I have ever known all wrapped up in one. She's extremely smart, funny, beautiful, insecure, and a total and complete smartass. What's not to love?
Would you want to meet them in real life?
Oh, yeah! It would be interesting to see if the Ember in my head came anywhere close to the real thing. But, since she's my character, I guess she would have to, wouldn't she?
Where do you get your inspiration for your stories? characters? Any real life inspiration?
I have four teenagers, a ton of nieces and nephews, and some of the craziest friends and family you would ever want to meet. I am literally surrounded by inspiration day in and day out.
Where can we find you and you books?
Something Witchy will go on sale for Kindle today, the 15th.

Ok Lets do something fun
dogs or cats?
Dogs, definitely dogs.
steak or burgers?
Burgers. Steaks take too long to cook :)
biggest criticisms?
That I'm the Queen of the Blonde Moment. And I get that a lot. As smart as I am, I can do some of the dumbest things.
best compliment?
That I'm the most determined person most people know. I like a good challenge. I thrive on them.
a author who has inspired you?
Anne Rice and Sara King. Anne Rice is the master of description, Sara the master of dialogue and character.
a favorite book?
I have three. The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice, Bag of Bones by Stephen King, and Outer Bounds by Sara King
It has been a pleasure talking with you AJ. I wish you great success and lots of downloads for your new book. Remember AJ is giving away a $25 Gift card Plus 2 E Books. Don't forget to check out the rafflecopter to the right of this post.
