Emma Daniels review of Gold Fever

Gold Fever

Adrian O'Shea  is not having a good day.  He just found out his brother has all but bankrupt the family business and it is up to him to tell his dad. So he goes to his fiancee for comfort. Only to have her hand back his engagement ring and tell him she has found someone new, his brother. So what is there left to do but to get drunk and forget it for a while.  Only when he wakes up things are different. He has found himself 150 yrs in the past, taking the place of his great great grandfather with the same name. The original Adrian O'Shea was not the best man and has been doing nothing buy a gambling drunkard.  Mistreating his lovely wife, Cassandra and dragging her into poverty with him.  Cassandra has noticed a difference in her husband, a man she was close to hating. he is fixing things around the house and tending to the animals, where before he would leave things around for her to deal with. She is starting to have hope that maybe this change is permanent and maybe her marriage can work after all.

OK, so this book is a time travel romance and I was worried that maybe it would be to much like "The Time Travelers Wife" but Emma Daniels had her own story and I was glad.  the story doesn't go back and forth between times to confuse, thanks goodness.  It starts in 2010 and made the trip to 1850, where most of the story is set. then heads back to 2010 for the conclusion. I enjoyed the book but felt like I wanted a little more closure at the end.  Some say that's a sure sign of a good writer, leaving you wanting more. But other than that it was a good book that I can easily recommend to you all.
