Interview with Dominique Eastwick

We are having a give away going on for March. What item are you giving away? (Anyone can win the item by going to the rafflecopter on the right hand side of the pg.)

I will be giving away $10 AMAZON gift card.

First why don't you tell us a little about yourself?

I currently call North Carolina home with my husband, two children, one crazy lab, and one lazy cat. I spent much of my early life moving from state to state as a Navy Brat. Because of that, traveling is one of my favorite past times. When not writing, you can find me behind the lens of my camera.

Newest release?

Kissing the Tycoon is the second Sherman Cousins short story and the 5th in the Sherman Family series.

Kissing the Tycoon

What can we expect from your stories, action, drama, romance, sex, blood and guts?

A lot of romance and some steamy sex, But without the sex you still have a strong love story with a little humor to boot.

Do you have a favorite character in your stories? Who? and Why?

I love the Rowan siblings and Rekkus from The Wiccan Haus series there is so much depth to them and so much more left to tell.

How about your least favorite character? What makes them less appealing to you?

JC from Hunting JC , it’s the first book I wrote but she isn’t as strong a heroine as my other stories. I can relate least to her.

Give us an interesting fun fact or a few about your book or series:

The Sherman’s love a the Red Sox and Jimmy Buffet. But Tony’s Wife likes neither.

Has there been any other authors who have inspired your work or helped you out with your stories? I was inspired by a lot of authors. Stephanie Laurens and Julia Quinn but its those who I have worked with that truly deserve kudos. Valerie Mann, Kate Richards, and Elizabeth Silver.

What can readers who enjoy your book do to help make it successful?

Tell their friends and leave positive feedback on Goodreads, Amazon, BN and Itunes.

Do you have any tips for readers or advice for other writers trying to get published?

I recommend getting into a readers group that doesn’t involve friends or family you need someone to give you honest feedback.  Also check out the Aspiring Romance Writers Blog. Its got good information for anyone looking to write, no matter what your genre. http://theaspiringromancewriters.blogspot.com/

Do you have a favorite author? If yes, what draws you to that person’s work?

I have a ton but Julia Quinn I just love and it’s the humor in her writing that I love so much.

Can you remember one of the first things you wrote? What makes it memorable?

Yes it was a historical that will never EVER see the light of day.

Where do you gather most of the inspiration for your work?

Honestly the ideas for my books can come at the oddest times. The stop light seems to be the most common for ideas to come. No idea why.
Do you have any other interesting hobbies, pets or stories you would like to share? I love photography and if you travel with me you will find me on my back or climbing over things just to get a good angle for a pic.
Favorite places to travel or visit? Ireland. I just loved that country and her people.

And now, before you go, how about a snippet from your book that is meant to intrigue and tantalize us:( Include links to were we can find your work)

Kissing the Tycoon

If you love something...

Riley Sherman knew when to cut her losses. Although she loved Barret, he never seemed ready to commit. His business would always be his first love.

If it doesn't come back...

Barret Briggs grew up poor and would be damned if anyone he loved ever went hungry again. Too late he realized that hunger can eat at the heart too.

But what if loves bumps back into you?

When fate throws them together again, can he prove to her he is now worthy of her love? And can she open herself up enough to let him back in?

Can two brokenhearted lovers find their Finally Ever After?

  1. I really liked "Hunting JC." I know that strong, especially kick-ass heroines are all the rage, and authors sometimes get bad reviews from heroines who are less sure of themselves, but an emotionally "normal" woman is as appealing as a physically normal heroine to me. Especially if they grow during the book, which I felt JC did. Just my two cents. :>).
