Pub Dec 6 Review of DEC PUB - Wild and Unruly by Amanda McIntyre‏

Wild and Unruly

Librarian Lillian is obsessed with the Old West and wants nothing more than for a cowboy to come and sweep her off her feet.  One night a mystery box containing an old necklace is found in her library and she takes it home only to wake up somewhere unfamiliar and having an argument with the man of her dreams Sheriff Jake Sloan over the behaviour of "her girls!"

When I saw the cover of this book I assume it was set entirely in the the past so was surprised when it started in the modern world.  There are several things that I really liked about this book, one was that when Lili finds herself in the Old West the details of her other life are fuzzy so although they leak through she isn't totally shell shocked, and the fact that a lot of the leaking was in the form of Billy Joel songs did have me laughing. I also liked the way that although she finds herself in a male dominated era she doesn't steam in and try and make everyone liberated as that would have made the story harsh instead she uses her charms gently to change peoples perceptions of her bordello.  This was a sweet read,- who can resist a cowboy- Yee Haw!!!

I would rate this 4 out of 5 stars
