Howard Barr, security specialist, beloved friend, and a werebear. Howard is loved by his vampire & shifter friends. He is trusted with Shawna and Romans kids. But Howard is banned from his home Alaska. So when the reason Howard is banned comes out and makes the ban null and void, he takes a vacation and starts some trouble. Shawna is not transitioning to a vampire very well. She misses her babies dunning the day. When she see Howard ,she sees her good friend and knows he is lonely. When Tino (her son) reveals a secret crush on a celebrity that she knows would be perfect for Howard, she decides to play matchmaker. Elsa, a celebrity on a home repair show, loves her job. When a woman named Shawna tells the show of a house that would be perfect for the show, she jumps at the chance. Elsa's family has lived with a curse. Her aunts, both eccentric and abilities of their own, know Elsa is going to come into her powers. When Elsa's birthmark burns, her aunts come running, they know she is in danger. Elsa's mother had been killed, along with her grandmother, will they save Elsa from there family curse? After causing trouble and reaping a little revenge on a past foe, Howard comes back to find his dream girl. But will the curse of his family get in the way. Will Elsa be able to accept ,he turns furry every once in a while? And are the 2 family curses connected?
I enjoyed the story. I love Howard. He has always been one of my favorite characters. Elsa's character, I understand her apprehension and understand her fear but know the 2 characters will be great together. So I did get very frustrated with her character. I felt very protective of Howard, who we have grown to love over the past books. The book moves a little slow but I loved the fact I got to see so many characters from the other books. Worth the read! Adults only, Keep them coming Kerrelyn!
