First why don't you
tell us a little about yourself?
·
I reside in southeastern Virginia. I’ve been
writing for over twelve years. I’ve always had a passion for books, been an
avid reader, and becoming an author was always my dream when I was young. It
took me a long time to sit down and write my first novel. Once I started it,
the words and the story were easy to put together. It was a natural process.
Newest release? The newest release will be my
novel called “Sexy People.”
What can we expect from your stories, action,
drama, romance, sex, blood and guts? A strange mix of horror, science fiction,
humor, and erotica. Blood and guts also, of course
Has there been any other authors who have
inspired your work or helped you out with your stories? The biggest inspiration
for me as an author is Clive Barker. I read his work when I was young and was
hooked.
What can readers who enjoy your book do to
help make it successful? Positive book reviews. Word of mouth is the best
advertising. Express your passion for my work.
Do you have any tips for readers or advice for
other writers trying to get published? Don’t give up. Don’t about rejection.
Just do what you love to do.
Can you remember one of the first things you
wrote? What makes it memorable? I remember writing the beginning of a haunted
house novel when I was fourteen. It was like a movie inside my head. I just
didn’t have the desire to finish it. For some reason, it sticks in my mind, and
I may use the material at some point. The fact I didn’t finish it is memorable.
I strive to finish everything I start writing.
Where do you gather most of the inspiration
for your work? Just everyday life. It could be a new drug that is killing people
on the streets? It could be something someone says. I have an idea I’m
incorporating into a new novel from a product a company I used to work for
sold.
Do you have any other interesting hobbies,
pets or stories you would like to share? I’m always proud of my German
shepherd. He’s getting old. But, he keeps fighting on through arthritis, hip
displacement, and a recent ear infection. He’s a tough guy.
Favorite places to travel or visit? I would
like to travel to Cebu, a province in the Philippines. I have a lot of people I
worked with for a company, whom I have never met face to face. We communicated
by phone or email. They described a wonderful place. I wrote about Cebu City in
a short story called “Juggling With Hand Grenades.”
