Lizzie Ashworth has been through career, marriage, kids, and
even ran her own cafe, but writing has always been her secret love. Hidden away
on a remote woodland hilltop in the great American South, she accepts advice
from her hound dog and a yellow cat. She writes legal porn, otherwise known as
erotic romance. She writes this for three reasons: her mind just naturally runs
to the gutter, she’s really a pen name for another more serious real person who
aspires to write Literature, and sex is finally out of the closet, reason
enough to indulge!
With an undergraduate degree in English and some grad school
hours in writing workshop, she knows just enough about crafting stories to be
dangerous. What she find most exciting about today, this minute, in the history
of literature, is that the author can put it out there without a fussy patron, picky
agent, or greedy publisher. Her observation is that this new freedom of
expression between the artist and the audience can be a double-edged sword—what
if it’s good and it’s lost in the sea of indie publications? What if she’s just
adding to the flood of awful books that risk turning readers away from
self-published works? These aren’t questions Ms. Ashworth pretends to answer,
but she’s damn glad she’s alive in the middle of it.
